Hi Jon - I hope you're doing well. Last week was pretty boring - I worked on getting my program working on a MacOS virtual machine. I'm trying to get a meeting set up with Adobe but the guy I want to meet with is in Asia so that's on hold for another week. Mom is working hard trying to become a seminary/institute teacher which involves her taking a college course with a lot of homework. She was really nervous this week to teach a lesson in front of all the students in her class. Next week she is going to teach a lesson in front of real teenage students and she's really stressed about it. This week was homecoming and Chance went to the dance. I never saw his date or any pictures so far and he didn't say much about it. He doesn't say much about anything these days. I went to the Timpview football game with Aimar because nobody else wanted to go and that was fun. We got beat really bad - like 52 to 14 or something like that.  Aimar had a soccer game on...

I missed you this weekend.  I went backpacking with Aimar and Javi up to Wall Lake for the night. Chance couldn't come because he had an ACT prep classes and a couple other things going on and of course Javi didn't want to come but I made him. Aimar and I hiked to the top of Bald Mountain and then paddleboarded on Mirror Lake for a while. Then we backpacked with all our gear up to Wall Lake and jumped off the wall a few times. I did dives and Aimar did front and side flips. We cut down 3 dead trees and chopped them into pieces and had a huge bonfire on the side of the lake until 11pm. I had a pretty horrible night's sleep - there was a ton of smoke from nearby forest fires and a lot of wind overnight so I kept waking up every 30 minutes hearing trees crack, voices from other camps, and animals going through our campsite. I was expecting the High Uintas to be super cold though but they weren't. It was probably 55 degrees when we woke up - unlike the 30 degrees we wo...

This week I bought a new whitewater kayak (used) and took it out on the Spanish Fork river on Saturday. It was pretty sweet but feels totally different than my old kayak so it's going to take a little while to get used to. Mom and I went to JohnnyP's birthday party on Friday and it was pretty chill with catered sliders and made-to-order pizzas, birthday cake, smores, and a cover band playing. I liked it a lot. We had stake conference on Saturday and Sunday which meant meetings for me at 4pm Saturday, 7am Sunday, and 10am Sunday. Then we went to West Jordan for Jared Hickenlooper's homecoming so it was like 5 1/2 hours of church on Sunday with a lot of driving thrown in. I went to the temple on Thursday and thought a lot about you. Don't ever forget that as members of the church we pray for our missionaries in every endowment session every hour of the day in every temple in the world. If you ever feel afraid or alone just think of all those people and all those prayers...

Hey Jon - Sorry I'm sending this out a little late this week - maybe you'll get it next p-day instead. It's Labor Day and we went camping in the High Uintas over the weekend and just got back a few minutes ago. In the High Uintas we found a decent campsite in an actual campground but Chance didn't like it and thought we should keep looking so we did that and not only did we not find any available space in the other 10 campgrounds we visited but when we came back to the first campsite it was taken too. So, we just found a spot in the woods outside of a campground and camped there and it worked out pretty well except we had no picnic table and I forgot to bring my portable one from home. Maddy and I kayaked on Mirror Lake and it was sooo pretty. It was packed with people too due to the holiday weekend. Basically we read books, played some games, and slept in hammocks. Maddy and Mom decided to hike to the top of Bald Mountain too but I went back to camp with Ch...
