It was great to get your first letter last week. Nice to know you're alive and having a good MTC experience. It's hard, right? I'm glad you are being thrown into the deep end of the pool because it's a good way to learn a lot of things really fast. You're going to be great. We were kinda worried when we didn't get a letter from you in like 9 days and then I went backpacking in Escalante and right when I was passing through Boulder, UT I received a text message from mom saying your letter had arrived but I didn't have any cell data where I was so I didn't get to read your letter for a few days when I got back to civilization. I created a backpacking schedule that Chance and Javi have to go on with me but I gave them both the opportunity to opt out of one hike. Hi Jon. I hope you are doing well in the MTC, getting accustomed to your companion, your schedule, classes, the food, etc. Do you have any idea how long you'll be in the MTC before shipping out to Queretaro? I had a nice week in Island Park. One day I washed and scraped varnish off windows and another day I spent about 9 hours cutting and stacking firewood, trimming trees, and getting the back yard looking amazing. I also spent a lot of time lounging in the hammock, reading books, watching a netflix series, eating tons of Grandma Poulton food, and talking with all the cousins. On Saturday I went into Yellowstone with Alexa, (boyfriend) Jacob, Mary, and (brother) Jacob to hike a place called Fairy Falls which was about 5.5 miles roundtrip, all flat. It was super pretty but had tons of mosquitos as well. We just got back late last night. We went to church in Island Park yesterday but nobody was there when we arrived due to it was Stake Conference that week. Oh well. Have a grea...
