Hi Jon. I hope you're doing well and that all your investigators came to church yesterday. It's cool that you have a new comp and get to show him around your area. We've had a beautiful fall week. The colors are amazing and it has been pretty warm. I got my skis tuned up at Nymans and bought my season pass at Sundance so I'm ready for the snow to begin! Just kidding, I like the warm weather more so I don't want it to end. Aimar has been crazy about frisbee golf lately so I've been out there practicing and getting better. It's pretty nice to have great weather and be able to walk around the park throwing the frisbee. We carved pumpkins yesterday. Usually mom does that stuff but I never participate so this year I got determined to do my own pumpkin. A few weeks ago I went shooting with Nate and we passed a farm that had pumpkins so I bought some for us to carve. But these pumpkins were huge! More than 35 lbs each. I carved a vampire Pac-Man with fangs abou...

Hi Jon! Here up north we're in the middle of Fall Break and you know what that means. Camping somewhere cool? No. Hiking an amazing canyon? Nope. Aimar had soccer games scheduled all weekend and Chance and Javi want to do NOTHING so we are home doing absolutely nothing. Aimar's soccer team made it into the quarter-finals but lost on Saturday so they are done for the season. So I guess we could have quickly put a trip together and gone camping somewhere for a couple of days before Fall Break ends but Chance and Javi didn't want to. Maddy and Heber are busy planning their wedding and trying to figure out what food to have at the reception. It would be easier if Mom and Gaynell weren't trying to control everything but I guess that's to be expected. They want to have a nice event probably a lot more than Maddy does at this point. We went to Frightmares at Lagoon on Friday. That place gets really packed during Fall Break especially because Lagoona Beach is cl...

Mom has been out of town all week. She went to her 30 year high school reunion and Kirstie Heaton went with her to tour Washington D.C. I spent my week driving kids to and from school and activities, cooking breakfast and dinner for everyone, and micro-managing Javier's make-up work from missed assignments. It really gave me a new appreciation for how much mom does for our family. Taking care of the kids is a big job. I wake up and make breakfast, get the kids off to school (or drive them), and then go to the gym. After my workout, shower, and breakfast I have about 3-4 hours until everybody comes home from school. When they get home I ask everyone about what homework they have and nag them about missed assignments. Last week I went to Centennial Middle School several days right after school to visit Javier's teachers and get details about his missed assignments and how to do makeup work. It was exhausting. Javi doesn't really seem to understand what's going on or that ...

Jon - It was pretty cool to be able to watch General Conference with you this weekend. I know we weren't in the same place but I had a pretty good idea what you would be doing and when you would be doing it. This was the first time in my life that we didn't have Priesthood Conference on Saturday night. That was weird. So instead we went to Lowes PPT with Nate, Aimar, and Javi. I jumped too but tricks aren't really my thing. Javi practiced his front flip and he is starting to overcome some of his fear. He didn't land it on the trampoline but did the flip and landed in the foam. The 2 hour church block was the worst kept secret in history. People have been talking about it for months but I thought it was a joke. I guess it's no joke now! My favorite messages were from Dallin H. Oaks on Saturday morning and D. Todd Christofferson on Saturday afternoon. Elder Christofferson talked about church members who selectively follow commandments or selectively accept cal...

Hi Jon! I hope you're doing well. Are your red shoes getting worn out? Let me know if you need some money to buy some new shoes. This week I focused a lot on programming. I've been waiting for one of the people from Adobe to get back from a trip to Asia so things have been moving slowly. In the meantime I went to crossfit for 5 days in a row! My old body feels like I got hit by a truck. I bought a new kayak a few weeks ago and I've been trying to figure out how to do a combat roll - where you get flipped upside down in the river for whatever reason and then you have to get your side rightside up without help. The whitewater club at BYU rented the pool at Provo Recreation center a couple weeks ago and they guys there gave me a few tips about how to do the roll. But it was really hard and I got tired before I ever really nailed it. So then I thought maybe I practice more in in a friend's pool like the Heatons or the Pestanas. I needed a 2nd person to help me ...
