Hi Jon!
Grandpa Carr's birthday is tomorrow and he is turning 74 I believe so I thought if you wanted to call him via google hangouts his address is cdavidcarr45@gmail.com. You don't have to it's up to you.
It was great talking with you last Monday. You look great and seem really happy in Leon so we are thrilled.
Things are good at home. Chance is doing really well and I've been hearing great things about him from lots of people. Sister Galland told me yesterday that she always thought you and Maddy were rock stars in her Sunday School class but that in reality you both are "dogs" (her words, not mine) compared to how amazing Chance is. hahaha
I got a job offer from Lucid Software a couple of weeks ago but I turned it down because it was only Director level when I have been a VP or higher for more than 20 years. Also the commute would have been not great. I'm interviewing with 5 different companies this week if you can believe it. I'm still not super motivated to take a pay cut or commute 3 hours per day but if I find a company that pays okay and not too long of a commute and some type of work that I'm actually excited about then I'll probably end my semi-retirement and take the job. I've been retired for 15 months now and sometimes I love it but sometimes I'm super bored and feel trapped because I can't really go anywhere with Chance and Javi still in school and living at home. I don't want to wreck their lives if I don't have to.
We got more snow but I didn't ski last week because I'm kind of bored with it. The next few days will be in the 50s so I'm really looking forward to getting out, walking around, maybe playing frisbee golf or tennis, etc. I took Aimar to the Provo Recreation Center for the first time last week and he loved it. We played racketball and he did really well but I won. I'm rusty though so it would be good to practice more. That kid has more energy than any of us know what to do with but it's generally pretty fun having him around.
We are watching a Netflix series called Umbrella Academy as a family and it's really cool and fun. Sort of a cross between xmen and heroes. It's nice to find a series that is family-friendly and one that is cool enough for teenagers to get into and also good for adults. Otherwise all of us watch our own screens in isolation and don't interact much.
Gotta go. I love you and hope you are having a good week.
Love,
Dad
