Hi Jon -

I'm super rushed today but I wanted to drop you a quick note. Maddy said you got bit by a dog and have an infection so I'm sorry to hear that and hope your healing is going well. Please take care of your body. And it wouldn't kill you to write a letter once in a while, right? I mean we can't connect every week and it would be nice to hear from you.

We had a great week in Yosemite Valley camping in Lower Pines. We spent most of every day in the water - rafting down to swinging bridge, jumping at Mirror Lake, and swimming at the base of Lower Yosemite Falls. The temperature was hot but really nice - really great weather overall. We hiked up the Mist Trail to the Silver Apron one day but that's the extent of our hiking after we finished our 18 mile backpacking trip to May Lake and Glen Aulin the previous week. Mom twisted her leg and ankle pretty badly so we kept the hiking to a minimum. Javi did great though - he says he hates hiking (and hates camping and everything outdoors) but when we went on the hike he was at the front of the group the whole time. His body is pretty big now so it shouldn't be that surprising I just wish he attitude would keep up with his capabilities.

We came home on Thursday and attended Lauren Osborn's wedding reception and then went to Michael Heaton's wedding reception. On Friday we signed the papers on our West Jordan house and hopefully tomorrow the buyers will sign. Quite an accomplishment! I've never sold a house before and we have a lot of memories there but it felt like the right time to sell and I'm glad to have it behind us now (well almost behind us).

I interviewed for a couple of jobs but they were first interviews and who knows where things will go from here. I leave first thing tomorrow morning to raft the middle fork of the salmon river - the river of no return. We went there together once but I'm not sure you remember it. I've always wanted to raft the salmon river so I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be gone 7 days and then when I get back Maddy wants to spend a week with Heber and me up in Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. It's funny that I break up with Banjo and for the next 35 days afterwards I'll only sleep in my own bed about 5 times. Life doesn't get any better than that!

I want you to write or video conference with your brothers and tell them what they should be thinking about and what they should be doing right now in their lives to prepare to be good missionaries. They don't want to hear it from me but I think they might listen to you.

We had a ward campout Friday night and very few people came but I had a good time anyway. We helped Alicia and Travis move into their new house in Pleasant Grove. We picked a ton of berries and grapes from the WJ house and just made about 20 bottles of grape juice, 3 gallon bags of frozen grapes, and 4 green grape pies (my favorite!).

I think that's all the updates I can think of regarding what's going on around here. I hope you are doing well and having lots of fun and lots of missionary success.

Love,

Dad
